Laminators
|
 |
Cold Laminators don't use any
heat or electricity. Instead, an adhesive material is used. Operator simply
loads a cartridge of "film" and then feeds the item to be laminated into machine while turning the crank. |

Pouch
Laminators are very inexpensive machines that come in a
variety of sizes. To make them work the operator inserts the item to be laminated into a laminating pouch of the
appropriate size and then feeds it into the pouch laminator, one item at a
time. Very slow, but for some applications such as ID cards, it can be a
practical solution even though the laminating pouches are much more
expensive than film for the roll type machines. The pouch laminator is
rapidly being replaced by the new photo ID printers. |

Roll
Laminators use
comparatively inexpensive film but the machines cost significantly more.
However, they pay for themselves in speed and volume using continuous
feed. They will accept a much wider variety of material sizes. |
